Course Outline

01 | Introduction

Welcome to See All The People: Discipleship Begins with Relationship. This three-session video teaching series, featuring Rev. Junius B. Dotson and Rev. Jacob Armstrong as your instructors, aims to communicate the basic principles behind See All The People, a movement to help us understand what discipleship and evangelism mean in the 21st century.

This video teaching series includes three sessions, as well as discussion for each session. We will talk about whose job it is to make disciples, how to stop fixing churches, and how discipleship begins with relationship. If you have a voice inside of you that wants to help create a new DNA in your congregation, welcome, and let’s get started.

02 | Whose Job is it to Make Disciples?

To make disciples, we must first be disciples. As leaders, we are called to model what following Jesus looks like. We’re also called to help people in our congregation grow and mature in their faith. In session one of See All The People: Discipleship Begins with Relationship, we will talk about the job of disciple-making.

03 | Discussion - Whose Job is it to Make Disciples?

The discussion sessions of the See All The People: Discipleship Begins with Relationship video teaching series are meant to share real-world examples and approaches to disciple-making, as well as the principles and ideas behind See All The People. In this first session, we will further discuss whose job it is to make disciples.

04 | Stop Fixing Your Church

What would happen if we stopped fixing churches and started seeing all the people God has called us to reach? Our response to decades of decline in mainline denominations is to try and fix what is broken, thinking if we fix all the broken parts of the church, the people will magically come. But as author Mike Breen said, “If you try to build the church, you will rarely get disciples. But if you make disciples, you will always get the church.” In session two of See All The People: Discipleship Begins with Relationship, we will talk about intentional discipleship—the making, shaping, and engaging of passionate disciples of Jesus Christ.

05 | Discussion - Stop Fixing Your Church

The discussion sessions of the See All The People: Discipleship Begins with Relationship video teaching series are meant to share real-world examples and approaches to disciple-making, as well as the principles and ideas behind See All The People. In the second session, we ask: What would happen if we stopped fixing churches and started seeing all the people that God has called us to reach?

06 | Discipleship Begins with Relationship

You’ve created and implemented an intentional discipleship system. You’ve helped disciples discover the why of making other disciples. Your leaders can clearly articulate what the process is. Now what? In session three of See All The People: Discipleship Begins with Relationship, we will talk about how building relationships and engaging your community must be seen as part of your intentional system of discipleship.

07 | Discussion - Discipleship Begins with Relationship

The discussion sessions of the See All The People: Discipleship Begins with Relationship video teaching series are meant to share real-world examples and approaches to disciple-making, as well as the principles and ideas behind See All The People. In the third session, we discuss what it means to engage the community.

08 | Closing Thoughts

Rev. Junius B. Dotson shares some closing thoughts as you complete the See All The People: Discipleship Begins with Relationship video teaching series.
